Going Back on the Road Again!

Hey there!
Sorry about the lack of communication these last couple of weeks. We have been here in Brisbane having lectures. Last week we had Jill Merriman come in and talk about Clear Conscience and Fear of the Lord. Then we just had Ben, an Islander who spoke on the Father heart of God. Since we've been back we've had our regular routine: meetings/worship/intercession, lectures, lunch, groups, dinner, and free time. One thing that was out of the normal routine was last Friday (March 23rd) the Frontiers were all back who started school in August. We hosted their grad/farewell which was fun. We got to see some of their pictures and hear about some of their adventures to different countries like Palestine, India, Canada, Australia etc. That weekend I went back to the Vineyard church for the Sunday night service. That was my 2nd time being there and its starting to be more familiar and I am getting comfortable there. It's a small church of only around 20-30 depending on the weekend. That Sunday I decided to start fasting as one of my friends Susan found out that her brother had more tumors. Merve is 31 and has been fighting cancer for the past 3 years. They thought he was in remission but in these past couple of weeks we found out differently. Well on Sunday we heard that Merve was very weak and the chances of him making it were very slim. Susan's family decided to fast and to continue to intercede for his health. Well I started to fast as well and felt like I was to until Wednesday. Well on Tuesday I felt that I was supposed to stop at lunch time and not on Wednesday (no it wasn't because it was a delicious lunch menu lol) so on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. I decided I was to start eating. I prayed before I ate and asked for God to strengthen Merve as I was being "strengthened" by eating again. Then 2 days later on our Thursday, Susan stood up and announced that in Pennsylvania on Tuesday at 1:00p.m. Merve was taken off pain medication. He didn't need to be eased off but he was taken right off. He also started to have bowel movements which he couldn't before becase of a tumor. So that was a complete answer to prayer. Lately he has been able to go up steps and he has been out to visit his parents. He is better than before but he still has a long way to go. A miracle is the only thing that can heal him right now as chemotheropy would only prolong his life. Susan, her family, and I would really appreciate if you would pray for Merve and their family in general through this rough time. So that was one of the many ways God revealed himself to me. It is amazing to see the power of prayer and fasting take place. Well this past weekend was pretty normal. We did however have a theme weak called "Angels & Mortals". It's when Beach 2 Bush and the Frontiers school put our names in a hat and draw a name. The name we got was our Mortal so during the week we were supposed to bless this person. Well my Angel was fantastic! The first day one of the guys walked into class and presented me with a flower from a shop down the road. It had a small handmade card with Proverbs 30:31. Then the 2nd day after being out with friends at McDonalds I came back to see a pathway of purple and white flowers with some green branches from the enterance of our dorm to my bed. It had a sticky note on the wall telling me to follow them. Then on my bed was a pinneapple (my fav) with flowers around it and verses stuck on little pegs in the pinneapple. The verses were about Beauty and were typical girl verses. Then the next night one of the Frontier girls (Marrietta) came and escorted me to a classroom which had the lights off except little white xmas tree lights on a cirlce of chairs around a bed made of pillows on the floor. One of the guys Kim (my salsa partner) was playing the Hallelujah song as I walked in on the acoustic guitar. Then Marrietta gave me a massage. It was so amazing, I also got another handmade card with a picture from one of the nights where we all went downtown on it with "Let The Good Times Roll" written on it. Then to top it off on the last day Kim came to me with a ipod playing one of the Rascal Flatts' slower songs and in front of me Micah (my angel) brought me a cheesecake with chocolate swirls and strawberries with a sparkler on top. Everyone else was so jealous because my Angel went all out. Others would get a chocolate bar or maybe a letter of encouragement but Micah went full out. He is the type of guy to give 110% in everything and he's a proud American lol. So that was definitely a highlight this past week. I have never recieved such good treatment in my life! On Saturday some of us went to a concert at one of the churches. We saw a flyer advertising a cover band of Nirvana, Green Day, Evanessence, etc and so we decided we wanted to go. In walking to this place we saw the sign on a church and once we heard the music we found out that they had changed all of the non-christian lyrics into christian lyrics. They had a few speakers and skits in between the songs then afterward they gave out sausages and we got to talk to some of the people there. Today (Sunday) I finished off one of the books for our book report then went to church. Tomorrow we are leaving to go on our next road trip. We are headed to Toowoomba for the Australian Gospel Music Festival (AGMF) for a week and a half to help set up and run it. Some of us will be doing security, others will be stamping hands etc. Approximately 40,000 people will be gathered there for this Festival. A lot of them will be non-christians so we will have a YWAM tent set up. In the past it has been a amazing opportunity for us to share the gospel. It is actually recognized at the Festival and it is mapped out which is huge. The bands who are going to be there include Blindside, Staccie Orrico, Superchick, Barlow Girl and many more. So I am totally pumped as I haven't seen Superchick or Staccie but have always loved their music. Then after that Festival we are to be going to Emerald which is a small town in the outback. We will be having lectures there then we will go farther into the outback to a place that starts with a S which I forget the name of. lol, sorry. We will be having more lectures at a ranch there so we will get to see a true outback ranch. Then we will head back the 10+ hours to Brisbane again. I am so excited to get going on this trip as the Festival will be a blast and the lecturers we are to have are said to be amazing. Thanks for your support and I hope you all have a great Easter!
